Kristen’s Kups Coco Bombs & Confectionary

Having a friend who bakes delicious desserts is a wonderful thing! If you love big cookies filled to the brim with rich goodness, then Kristen Durham’s confections are for you. I have tried her cookies before, and my favorites have always been the Peanut Butter and the S’mores. This time around, Kristen generously shared with me a few of her newer flavors. Lucky for my husband and my son, these goodies were large enough for sharing.

I’ll start out with my favorite of the four we sampled, the Triple Chocolate Espresso Hazelnut Toffee. The name alone tells you all the ingredients you can expect when you take your first bite. I am a chocolate addict and for something to be considered dessert to me, it needs to contain chocolate in some form. This cookie definitely delivered on the chocolate flavor. With the additions of espresso and hazelnut, you get a combination that reminded me so much of the hazelnut mocha latte I love to order at my local coffee house. My favorite part of this cookie was the crunch from the toffee chunks.

My husband, on the other hand, is not chocolate freak like me. His favorite from this sampling was the Golden Oreo Funfetti Blondie. It was so colorful thanks to the rainbow sprinkles, and it was loaded with vanilla baking chips and golden Oreos. He felt the best part was the blondie itself, a classic vanilla with caramel and brown sugar.

It would seem that my son has inherited his love of all things chocolate from me. He liked The Rookie best, thanks to the triple chocolate brownie layer and the Oreo cookies. It’s full of chocolate & vanilla chips too, as well as another layer with caramel and brown butter cookie dough. Pure decadence!

Kristen’s Cookie Butter cookie was popular with all of us. If you enjoy the Biscoff cookies that flight attendants pass out as snacks on an airplane, then you will love this cookie. I always have a jar of cookie butter from Trader Joe’s in my cabinet, and now I plan to try adding some to my cookie dough next time I have the urge to bake cookies at home. This cookie is caramel based with three types of chocolate chips. So rich and loaded with flavor!
